Funkallure was formed in 2024 with members from funk, soul, jazz and rock backgrounds. They bring their own flavour to classic funk-influenced songs as well as writing original tunes.

Marcel Stranis - Bass & Backing vocals. Marcel started playing guitar aged 9 but in early adulthood switched to bass and hasn’t looked back since! He currently works across multiple genres from African and Latin music to rock, jazz and funk.

Chris White - Drums.  Dedicated to his craft, Chris began his career in his high school big band and years later, played at his own wedding! His impact has a drummer inspired his nephew to follow in his footsteps and he now plays professionally.

Charles Mack - Guitar. Charles’ professional music journey started in the 1990s as a guitarist with McKoy. He brings his passion as a vinyl record collector and DJ into a beautiful funk/rock synergy within the group. His influences range from Black Sabbath to D’Angelo and everything in between!

Martin Bush - Keys. Martin’s jazz/funk piano journey began in his late 20s after switching from saxophone. He credits renowned jazz pianists, educators and YouTubers for his development as a highly skilled and creative pianist.

Gill Hunte - Lead Vocals. As a child in the local church choir, Gill sang Bach with James Brown in her heart.  A few years after graduating, she joined the Emperor’s New Clothes as guest vocalist working the Acid Jazz circuit with McKoy, James Taylor Quartet and Mother Earth. She has performed at Glastonbury and supported  Roy Ayers, Jean Carne and D-Influence.
